11 Commandments You Must Obey To Avoid Cancer

World Cancer Day!!

It’s the 4th of February and Today’s Date is ‘World Cancer Day’!!

Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to invade or spread to other parts of the body. These contrast with benign tumors, which do not spread.

It is a broad term and can also be described as a disease that results when cellular changes cause the uncontrolled growth and division of cells.

Some types of cancer cause rapid cell growth, while others cause cells to grow and divide at a slower rate. An estimate of 9.6 million people has died due to cancer.

Most common types of cancer include:
Ø  Breast Cancer
Ø  Prostate Cancer
Ø  Basal Cell Cancer
Ø  Skin Cancer
Ø  Lung Cancer
Ø  Colon Cancer
Ø  Lymphoma
Ø  Leukaemia
And much more.

Today, I’ll be revealing eleven (11) basic commandments to preventing cancer of any kind.

11.    Avoid Tobacco

Using any type of tobacco puts you on the top risk of obtaining cancer. Smoking has been linked to various types of cancer, including – cancer of the lungs, bladder, kidney, etc.
Avoid tobacco – and even, stop smoking it, if you do already… says the 1st commandment.

22.    Eat a Healthy Diet

Do not just stuff your mouth with any kind of food, but eat the right and healthy kind of foods. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables and other plant sources such as whole grains and beans.
If you choose to drink alcohol, drink moderately.
Also, reduce your consumption of saturated fat and red meat which may increase the risk of prostate cancer and colon cancer.

33.    Avoid Obesity

Stay lean, take in fewer calories and burn more with exercise; which leads us to the 4th commandment.

44.    Exercise Regularly

As a general goal, include at least 30 minutes of physical activity in your daily routine – although if you can do more, even better.

Exercising regularly helps to lower the risk of various kinds of cancer including breast, lung, colon and prostate cancer.

55.    Avoid Unnecessary Exposure to Radiation

Get medical imaging studies only when you need them. Avoid midday sun. When you are outdoors, try as much as possible stay in the shade. Don’t skimp on sunscreen. Avoid tanning beds and sunlamps.

66.    Get Vaccinated

Get vaccinations for diseases that contribute to cancer such as; Hepatitis B which can increase the risk of developing liver cancer. Also, Human Papillomavirus (HPV) which can lead to cervical and other genital cancers.

77.    Make Quality Sleep a Priority

Poor and insufficient sleep increases and is associated with weight gain, which is a cancer risk factor. Thus, get as much sleep as you can.

88.    Avoid Exposure to Industrial and Environmental Toxins such as asbestos fibres, benzene, aromatic amines, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

99.    Avoid Risky Behaviors

Avoid risky behaviours that can lead to infection, that will, in turn, increase the risk of cancer. Limit your number of sexual partners and practice safe sex.

The more sexual partners you have, the more risk of contracting a sexually transmitted disease.

Do not share needles. Sharing needles with people who use intravenous drugs could lead to HIV, as well as Hepatitis B or C.

For the ladies do not keep money in your braziers and breast pads, this could lead to breast cancer.

110. Get Enough Vitamin D

Many experts now recommend 800 to 1,000 IU a day, a goal that's nearly impossible to attain without taking a supplement. Vitamin D intake may help reduce the risk of prostrate cancer and colon cancer.

111. Get Regular Medical Care

Consistent self-examinations and screenings for various types of cancers — such as cancer of the skin, colon, cervix and breast — can level up your chances of discovering cancer early, when treatment is most likely to be successful. Ask your doctor about the best cancer screening schedule for you.

And there you have it, the 11 commandments you must obey to prevent cancer. Do well to keep to them and share them to your loved ones, and trust me, you’ll be doing yourself and your environs a lot of good!!

Happy World Cancer Day!!
