For many years nuts have been a principal of the human diet. The ancient Greeks and Romans were fond of the walnut, the Chinese believed the hazelnut was one of the five sacred nourishment's and the Native Americans relished the pecan. And we chocolate lovers consider chocolate as divine. And since the 19th century its become a common practice to coat or dip nuts and fruits into melted chocolate.

Dark chocolate possesses a substantial amount of antioxidants, while the nuts contain the essential fatty acids and linolenic acids. Nuts also provide arginine, a substance that may help make the walls of the arteries more flexible and less prone to blockage from blood clot formation. Various nuts are good sources of vitamins E and B2 and are rich in protein, folate, fibre and vital minerals, such as magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and copper.

To celebrate, have your combination of chocolate-covered nuts. I mean there’s a lot to choose from, how about M & M??

 3.   Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday is a day in February or March immediately preceding Ash Wednesday, that is observed and celebrated by Christians / in some Christian countries by eating pancakes.

Shrove Tuesday gets its name from the ritual of ‘shriving’ that Christians used to undergo in the past. In shriving, a person confesses their sins and receives absolution for them. Pancakes were traditionally eaten on the day before Ash Wednesday because they were a way to use up eggs, milk, and sugar before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

It is observed by many Christian denominations including orthodox churches.
