February
17th is the forty-eighth (48) day in the Gregorian/solar calendar.
On this day, Golda Meir was sworn in as the first female Prime Minister of
Israel in 1969; Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash recorded an album that was never
released in 1969; Sales of Volkswagen Beetle Model exceeded those of Ford Model
T in 1972, and on this day Niger security officials arrested over 20 Boko Haram
Islamists militants from Nigeria.
It’s
the 17th of February, 2020 and on Today’s Date TV’s celebrations and
holidays, we’ve got;
1.
Random
Acts of Kindness Day:
“Kindness is not an act. It’s a lifestyle.”
We
all could use a little more kindness to in our lives and Random Acts of
Kindness Day is a great day to make that happen for others.
This
holiday encourages you to get out there and be the light you want to see in the
world. Sometimes, it’s the smallest of acts that create the biggest impact. It could
be a simple please or thank you; it could be offering food, help, clothes,
change to those who need it; it could also be helping with the house chores or
giving that little attention to those at home.
To
Celebrate:
You
can choose to do this in any way that suits you, whether big or small. Give out
to those in need, help that old lady or man cross the street, feed that hungry
child, buy lunch for your colleague, see someone looking down – help them out
of that mood. However you wanna do it is totally up to you, but make sure to
bring a smile on someone’s face today with an act of kindness.
2.
World
Human Spirit Day:
As
strange or rather spiritual as it may sound, there is a “World Human Spirit Day”.
The
human spirit is the spiritual and mental part of humanity. It is an essential
part of our existence. It includes our emotions, intellect, fear and passions.
The World Human Spirit Day is all about how
we can empower ourselves every day. A day to marvel at our achievements on earth
as humans, and to envision the unending possibilities we have as
spirits. A Day set out to give higher power thanks for what we have, for making
us who we are and for giving us the ability to do more.
To Celebrate:
On World Human Spirit Day people are
encouraged to take 2 minutes of silence at 3 pm to meditate or rather pray.
3. My Way Day:
“It’s My Way or the High Way”
My Way Day is a day where you are
encouraged to officially do whatever you want, however you want. The world revolves
around you in these 24-hours, so ensure that no one else influences your
decisions but yourself...
To Celebrate:
Simply, It’s your day so just do everything
your way… as long as it is legal.
