1. World Wildlife Day

The animals and plants that live in the wild have an intrinsic value and contribute to the ecological, economic, cultural, genetic, social, scientific, educational, recreational and aesthetic aspects of human well-being and to sustainable development.

World Wildlife Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many beautiful and varied forms of wild animals and plants and to raise awareness of their importance, a day to remind us of our responsibilities to our world and the lifeforms we share it with. The day also reminds us of the urgent need to step up the fight against wildlife crime.

The theme for World Wildlife Day 2020 is, “Sustaining all life on Earth”. Thus to join in this celebration how about visiting a local zoo to learn more about the variety of species our world has to offer. You can also join the movement by joining the fight against wildlife crimes.

World Wildlife Day is an opportunity for you to do your part in preserving the world; so, do your part.

2. What If Cats and Dogs Had Opposite Thumbs Day

This certainly has to be in the record of bizzarre celebrations, I tell ya!! But it will shock you that it is indeed celebrated, and they see nothing bizzare about it at all.

What if Cats and Dogs had Opposable Thumbs Day aims to give us all a pause for thought and think about how different our lives and our pet's would be if cats had dewclaws and dogs had mitten paws.

This weird observance was created by Ruth and Tom Roy. Tom Roy came up with the idea after having had cats and dogs in the house for 45 years, and realizing that their main dependency on humans was for food. So, one day, he thought, how would things turn out if they didn’t need humans to turn that tin opener?

To join in the celebration how about figuring out some unique skills of your pets. Appreciate them for those they have - even those they don't have.

3. National Anthem Day

The National Anthem is a song that speaks of culture, history, identity and beliefs of a particular nation. No matter what nation you hail from, there's that song you all know and believe in.

In many nations the song is sung every morning by school children, in some countries to open certain sporting events, or any other public event.

National Anthem Day is here to celebrate all the National Anthems of the world, from the obscure and forgotten to the ones that ring out every single day.

To celebrate, I already started a challenge on our Twitter, Facebook and Instagram page, where you can upload a video of you or your friends singing your nation's National Anthem using the #NationalAnthemChallenge. Feel free to join in the fun.

4. Canadian Bacon Day

For meat lovers, there’s not much better than bacon. Bacon is more like the meat candy of the world and has more than its fair share of dedicated fans!

But then there are different kinds of bacon to enjoy – and one of them is Canadian bacon, as it is known in the United States.

Canadian bacon is a little more like ham than bacon because of the way it is served – made from back bacon and formed into a cylindrical shape and is sold ready to eat.

To celebrate you can look up amazing recipes to make your own Canadian bacon either smoked, boiled, fried, baked, or grilled.

Bon Apetite.

5. International Irish Whiskey Day

What a wonderful time of the year for whiskey lovers.

The figure 3 has always been of special importance in Ireland. The symbol of Ireland (the Shamrock) has three leaves. There are three colours in the Irish Flag. There are three types of Irish Whiskey – Single Malt, Single Grain and the uniquely Irish Single Pot Still. It’s also a well-known fact that Irish Whiskey must be matured for at least three years before it can be called whiskey. In fact the traditional Irish Whiskey is triple distilled. And so, the 3rd of March or 3/3 became the obvious choice of date for our annual Irish Whiskey Day.

So to celebrate, let's take a shot of Irish Whiskey to that!!
